School-Based Services

With over 25 years working in schools, Marina offers a wide range of school-based services to support the inclusion of students with developmental, learning or behavioural differences. These services include both individualised and whole class support, staff development and teacher reflective practice.

Teacher & Student

Tailored professional learning to meet the needs of school communities.

 

Professional Learning can be delivered to whole staff, cohorts of teachers, individual educators or Learning support officers.

 

Professional Learning can be delivered as part of Staff Development Days, Weekly staff meetings or Individual sessions.

Student

Individualised planning and support in relation to the needs of a specific student. The focus of support is not only to work in collaboration with teacher and parent to increase engagement and participation in all aspects of school life, but to also incorporate capacity building elements in order to embed practices which increase sustainable change.

 

Focus of an Individualised Student Support service can include consultation relating to educational adjustments (including curriculum and environmental adjustments) and support in relation to:

  • Functional assessments of behaviour

  • Positive Behaviour Support Plans and Risk assessments

  • Social and emotional development

  • Playground adjustments

  • Transition planning

  • Developing student specific autism profiles

 

For Secondary students, early morning or after school teacher briefings (all KLA teachers) around the needs of a specific student is also available.

Supervision

and Reflective Practice

As an Australian Psychological Society (APS) Board approved Supervisor, Marina promotes Supervision and Reflective Practice as lifelong processes, critical to good professional practice and continuous learning.

 

Supervision and Reflective Practice sessions are available to individual educators or leadership groups to build critical skills and enhance professional development.

In the Classroom

Whole 

Class Support

A whole classroom support service focuses on creating classroom environments which assist all children in relation to behaviour and regulation.

 

The service can also include specific focus on matching environments to the needs of individual children with unique presentations e.g, autism, executive functioning difficulties, language delays/disorders, anxiety and trauma.
